A permablitz, or ‘blitz’ is a congregation of community members who come together to create incredible things. In the words of it’s founder, Permablitz Melbourne, Permablitz is “…an informal gathering involving a day on which a group of at least two people come together to achieve the following: create or add to edible gardens. share skills related to permaculture and sustainable living.

Who can host a blitz?

In order to host your own blitz you must be a registered member of the Permaculture Calgary Guild. We ask that you participate in at least 2 permablitzes prior to hosting your own. We ask that you come to two or more blitzes in advance so that you:

  1. Get an idea of what to expect on a blitz
  2. Learn some relevant skills
  3. Demonstrate enough drive to show that you’ll maintain your garden
  4. Contribute to the permablitz network
  5. Build community!

Once you are part of the group and put in your “time” we’ll help organize and promote a blitz for you. You don’t need a lot of skills, just a commitment to give it a try.
